Marie McNamara played an integral part of B.I.G from 2010 through 2014 and performed various roles in the organization. As the Director of Prospect Leadership, she managed the operations of Leadership Training and launched new groups throughout the United States. As Regional Director, she was responsible for the planning, directing and overseeing of policies related to the Leaders and Pods of B.I.G. As the first Leader of the West Hartford, CT POD, she prepared and managed monthly group business meetings and provided a comfortable and inspirational environment for women to move forward in their professional lives.
In 2014, Marie joined the staff at Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity as Individual Engagement Manager. She brought her skills in leadership, event planning and engagement to the local affiliate, as well as her passion to help those in need. Until January of 2017, she focused on individual relationships, while connecting volunteers and donors to the Habitat mission. She also managed the following initiatives for the affiliate: Women Build, Building on Faith, Youth United and the annual Golf Tournament.
Marie currently finds herself at a professional crossroads. Prior to working with B.I.G., Marie focused on raising her children, while gaining education in social enterprise, philanthropy and continuously volunteering for local organizations including: Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity, Catherine’s Place/Mercy Housing & Shelter, The House of Bread, FoodShare, St. Patrick-St. Anthony Church, the GirlRising movement and serving as the Community Service Co-Chairperson at her children’s elementary school.
Marie resides in West Hartford with her husband Tim and their 4 children.
